Terms of service

These Terms are an agreement between you and Myles James LLC ("we", "us"), operator of Neighborhood Scanner (neighborhoodscanner.com). By creating an account or using the service you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our FCRA Notice & Permitted Use.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract. One person per account.

2. The service

Neighborhood Scanner provides neighborhood awareness information and home monitoring alerts compiled from public and commercial sources. Features may change over time. Title monitoring is an alert service, not title insurance, legal advice or a guarantee against fraud. Tax appeal checks are informational, not tax or legal advice.

3. Permitted and prohibited use

You may use Neighborhood Scanner only for lawful personal purposes. You must not use it for any purpose listed as prohibited in our FCRA Notice, including tenant, employment, credit or insurance screening, or to stalk, harass, threaten or discriminate against anyone. You must not scrape, resell or redistribute data, or attempt to access accounts or systems you're not authorized to use. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

4. Subscriptions, billing and automatic renewal

  • Free plan: Free Street Alerts require no payment.
  • Paid plans: Home Watch ($9.99/month or $89.99/year) and Family Watch ($14.99/month or $119.99/year), plus applicable taxes.
  • Automatic renewal: paid plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly) and your payment method is charged the then-current price until you cancel. We'll tell you the price and billing frequency before you buy and get your consent to the renewal terms.
  • Price changes: we'll email you at least [30] days before any price change takes effect; you can cancel before it applies.
  • Annual reminders: we email a reminder before each annual renewal.

5. Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel anytime online in Account → Billing, or by emailing support@neighborhoodscanner.com. Cancellation stops future charges; you keep access through the end of your current paid period. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable, but if you contact us within [7] days of an unintended renewal charge we will refund it.

6. Data accuracy and disclaimers

THE SERVICE AND ALL INFORMATION ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. Public records may be incomplete, delayed or inaccurate. We don't guarantee that any alert will be sent, received or timely. Weather alerts don't replace official emergency notifications.

7. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, AND WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.

8. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your misuse of the service or violation of these Terms or the law.

9. Disputes
